Toll House Pie

  • 1 unbaked deep-dish pie shell
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c flour (+ 1 tbsp)
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c softened butter
  • 1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 325.

Beat eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy. Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Pour into thawed pie shell.

Bake on baking sheet for about an hour. Cool for 30 minutes before serving with ice cream.

Notes:

  • Check on pie 30 minutes into baking, since the top may need to be covered with foil.
  • Nuts can be swapped for an additional 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
  • Mini chocolate chips suspend better.
