Castle Biscuits

Metric

  • 145 g Coarse wholemeal flour
  • 130 g All purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tbsp Butter, softened
  • 225 g Buttermilk

Volumetric

  • 1 c Coarse wholemeal flour
  • 1 c All purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tbsp Butter, softened
  • 1 c Buttermilk

Preheat oven to 375. Line a small baking pan with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Press in butter with fingers until it is evenly dispersed. Stir in buttermilk with a fork. 

Spray a 1/2 c. measure with cooking spray. Scoop a scant 1/2 c. of dough into the measuring cup and press down slightly. Plop out onto baking sheet. Bake biscuits for 15-20 minutes or until tops start to brown and middles are cooked through.
